To allow users to create new documents from repository-based templates with XMetaL Author Enterprise – SP Edition, you need to configure the template directory. See the 'Configuring the location of the template directory' section in the XMetaL Author Enterprise 8.0 - SP Edition Administrator's Guide for instructions.
If you have upgraded your version of XMetaL Author Enterprise - SP Edition, some .NET global-assembly cache entries are not removed and can cause unexpected behavior after upgrading. Follow these instructions below to correct this issue.
Warning: To prevent data loss, you must be either check in, or undo checkout for, all working files. The upgrade invalidates the local cache for working files.Importing documents with relative references from a network location can be only done successfully is the network drive is mapped. Importing directly from a network drive may cause relative references, in a map or topic, to break.
If you cancel the login process, XMetaL Author for SharePoint hangs. To log in again, go to Task Manager, select the Processes tab, and then end the xmetal80.exe process. Press CTRL when re-opening XMetaL Author for SharePoint. If you are prompted to end the previous session, select "Yes".
If you have upgraded XMetaL Author Enterprise - SP Edition 6.0 Beta and receive an error when trying to open the repository, the cache is incompatible with the latest installed version of XMetaL. Follow these instructions to correct this issue.
